How to open many keypad-access doors

Here's a fun little tip: You can open most Sentex key pad-access doors by typing in the following code:

***00000099#*

The first *** are to enter into the admin mode, 000000 (six zeroes) is the factory-default password, 99# opens the door, and * exits the admin mode (make sure you press this or the access box will be left in admin mode!)

I'm not sure how prevalent they are, but here in San Francisco, Sentex building access systems seem to be the most popular.

Although it seems like an almost heretical thought, the veterans at TTS believe that the principles expressed in the Constitution, principles we swore on our sacred honor to defend, can coexist with the complex challenges of the world today. The Electronic Frontier Foundation is on the razors edge of that battle and we are proud to support them.

Those principles, however, cannot survive when sections of the populous, regardless of their standing or stature, are immune to the rule of law. When we, as a free nation, are not all held accountable to the same rules, we, as a free nation, cease to exist and the enemies of freedom have triumphed. How quickly we seem to have forgotten that our elected officials are there to do our bidding as a nation. They do not operate on a plane of existence separate from our own. They cannot make up the rules as they go along. Unless we as a nation allow it to happen.

Do enemies exist? Of course. Are there matters of concern to the nation that may momentarily usurp the liberties of an individual? Of course. Do contingencies occur where an action must be taken before specific legal permission has been granted? Of course. At no time, however, can we afford for due process and accountability to be denied to any individual for any reason. For the moment due process breaks down, the moment civil liberties are violated without an express court order, the moment individuals are monitored without warrant or just cause, our society takes a step back from civilization.
